Notice of Annual General Meeting

To be held on Thursday 2nd July 2009, 4.15 pm, at the Nottingham Belfry Hotel, Mellor's Way, Nottingham NG8 6PY.

Notice is hereby given that the Annual General Meeting of the National Association of Disability Practitioners will take place on Thursday 2nd July 2009, at the Nottingham Belfry Hotel, Nottingham, during the Annual Conference 2009.

Background

The aim of this document is to outline to members the format for the NADP Annual General Meeting on Thursday 2nd July 2009.

Procedures for Annual General Meeting (AGM)

At the AGM each motion will be read out and the Proposer invited to speak about the motion.

No amendments to motions have been received.

No Motion or Amendment to a Motion can be submitted at the Annual General Meeting.

All votes will be by show of hands and recorded as For/Against/Abstain.

Voting at AGM will be by a show of hands. Votes received by post from members not attending AGM, will be added to the total at the AGM and the results announced after each vote.

Proposals for consideration at the Annual General Meeting

Audited Accounts for financial year 2007/2008 (NADP Board of Directors)

A paper copy of the abbreviated audited accounts for financial year 2007/2008 will be included in members' conference pack. A full set of accounts will be made available on the NADP Website or on request from the NADP Administration Office once this has been received from the Auditors.

Proposed budget for financial year 2009/2010 (NADP Board of Directors)

The proposed budget for financial year 2009/2010 will be included in members' conference pack and will be available on the NADP Website no later than Thursday 18th June.

Appointment of Auditors (NADP Board of Directors)

The NADP Board of Directors propose to re-appoint Everitt Kerr and Co as Auditors.

Increase in Membership Fees (NADP Board of Directors)

The NADP Board of Directors propose a 3% increase in membership fees for 2009/2010 in order to cover increased administration costs.

Implement a Pilot Scheme for the Accreditation of Individual Members (NADP Board of Directors)

Following Members agreement that the Board investigate an accreditation scheme for individual members, the Board now invites members to consider the proposal for a pilot scheme to run prior the Annual General Meeting 2010.

Change the name of Associate Member category to Contributory Member (NADP Board of Directors)

In conjunction with the proposed Accreditation Scheme the NADP Board of Directors wish to change the name of the current Associate Member to Contributory Member.

Upgrading Associate Member to Full Member (NADP Board of Directors)

The NADP Board propose that members who join NADP at Associate (Contributory) Membership Level will automatically be upgraded to Full Member when they fulfil that criteria (3 years experience or 5 years part-time experience).

Board Nominations 2009

In accordance with the Memorandum and Articles of Association, one third of the NADP Board of Directors are required to stand down at the Annual General Meeting. Co-opted Directors are also required to stand down, but can be recommended by the Board to stand for election.

Nominations are invited for the vacant positions.
